Finally finished college? Or maybe you skipped the whole college thing and went straight to work. Travelling the world (in true boss babe fashion)? Or still dreaming about taking your first backpacking trip overseas?
Regardless of the season in your life right now, many 20-something women find themselves in similar situations. You’re finally “out in the world” trying to make your dreams a reality. You have the ambition, you know what you want and you’re willing to make the sacrifices to get there.
You are an unstoppable force.
But sometimes you forget how incredible you are. Sometimes the world tries to take away your light. Maybe you feel like all you hear are voices filled with negativity and doubt.
Please, please do not let the world and small minds stop you from pursuing your greatness.
The years in your twenties will be filled with lots of learning, lots of growth and lots of discovery. Expect to fail (and probably fail often). Know it’s all part of the process. Know that you are exactly where you need to be. Keep working hard and don’t lose sight of your vision.
And while you’re learning, here are some simple lessons for you…
Trust your gut (it’s never wrong).
Don’t compare yourself to what any other woman (especially your age) is doing.
That path only leads to a downward spiral. Blinders on!
Don’t settle for less than you’re worth.
In relationships, in your career, in your friendships, everything. Know your value.
It’s okay if your plan doesn’t work out in the timeframe you want it to.
Since when does success have a deadline? Work on building a legacy that will outlast you. It’s good to set goals, but be realistic in your methods and flexible in your approach. If things don’t work out in the time you planned for, reset them and try again.
Build a personal brand.
Your jobs and business ventures will change, but personal brands last a lifetime. A brand gives you authority, credibility and can be the bridge to building a community of like-minded individuals through social media. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there!
Have faith that everything will work out when it’s supposed to.
Stay positive, remain hopeful, recover from setbacks quickly and do one thing that scares you everyday.
Remember all successful women have gone through the same things you’re going through now. Take one step at a time and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
