Love is definitely in the air as we approach Valentine’s Day tomorrow. The pink and red have taken over. Store shelves are filled with teddybears, flowers and chocolate. There’s really no escaping the lovey dovey energy floating around, so in the spirit of celebrating all types of love, let’s talk about some things we should be totally in love with on our respective journeys to success.
Here are some things we should LOVE as Boss Babes.
Being your own boss is really great, but it’s not always a walk in the park. You will be faced with challenges from time to time. At times you’ll be ready for the challenges ahead of you. Sometimes things just won’t go according to plan. No matter the circumstance, challenges will present themselves in every aspect of life. This is especially true for business.
Having an understanding that challenges exist, the awareness that you will encounter them, and readiness/willingness to face them places you ahead of the curve.
Challenges will make you stronger and further prepare you to be great[er] at what you do. Learn to love them and watch how much you evolve personally and professionally!
2. Love Learning New Things
In many cases, the best way to learn is to do. Many of us got started by doing a little bit of research and then taking the eventual leap. So we’re basically flying by the seat of our pants with a lot to learn. Maybe you’re not quite that aimless and are better prepared. Either way the world is ever-changing and it’s inevitable that we learn a thing or two.
The longer you’re at it, the more you’ll learn about yourself. You’ll also learn a lot about business, processes and the world around you in general. Embrace all of the opportunities to be introduced to new things.
The more you learn the better you get at your craft. The better you get, the more there is to learn. It’s all a process and it will be a great benefit to love learning new things, because it’s bound to happen.
3. Love Your Growth
Growth is inevitable, especially when we apply what we’ve learned. Our growth enables us to expand. The things we learn in our first year of business may enhance our mission in year two. The number of people we reach by year 5 will certainly be larger than the amount of people we connected with year 2.
Being able to reach more people translates to more sales. Growth in sales converts to dollars. Even when money isn’t the focus, seeing growth in profits is a tangible way to quantify how many people you are influencing. Loving your growth, no matter how minor, motivates you to keep it going.
And being able to look back and take stock of how much you’ve grown is really awesome.
4. Love Yourself
You learn a lot about your strengths and weaknesses while on an entrepreneurial journey. It is important that we give ourselves the love we deserve in all things that we do.
Self-confidence is one of the most important things you can have as a Boss Babe. Having a healthy love for yourself and the ability to trust your own skills is crucial. Knowing you have what it takes is half the battle.
Learning how to forgive yourself for any mistakes you may encounter is also very important. Don’t stunt your growth by dwelling in past mistakes. Instead focus on what you’ve done well.
Find ways to multiply the things you’re great at. Give yourself the love you seek. Be as kind to yourself as you are to the [other] people you love. Having self-love and confidence are sure to increase your feelings of success. And even if you gain nothing else, you still win.
5. Love The Journey
I’m sure you’ve heard the age old sentiment “life is a journey not a destination.” It’s a bit cliché but honestly, the journey is a major part of the fun. It’s also the lengthiest part, so you may as well enjoy it.
Have a dream. Set a goal. Do the work that gets you from point A to point B. Celebrate success. Repeat.
We will always have ups and downs as we approach our goals. It’s those events that shape us.
We’ll get to our goal for sure, but we’re better people when we get there because of the journey.
There is so much to love about being a Boss Babe. We’ve made the choice to be in control of a large piece of our lives and we should celebrate that. We have so many of the traits that make us perfect for this mission.
When we learn to love the parts of our work that make it tedious or difficult or even somewhat unenjoyable, we take our power back and create better experiences.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes! You’ve got this!
