Do You Need A Business Coach?

I am just starting to feel like an entrepreneur. I’m like a baby OG of entrepreneurship. I know I have a talent and a purpose to build other women and girls, though these days I’m focusing on women. There are so many ways I want to take my company, I want empowerment courses, I want merchandise, I want speaking engagements, though I’ve been doing those for years, I want consistency everywhere. Lastly, I want my company to be my main source of income.

I want a hell of a lot, right? I didn’t even tell ya’ll everything! I want a lot, but I don’t know a lot about entrepreneurship. To be honest, the word always kind of scared me, and now that I am just getting in the game, I’m not as scared but I do need help. See, I have more of an advantage than most people starting out on their own thing, I am surrounded by nothing but entrepreneurs! All of my friends are full time entrepreneurs, the women in my family have their own business on the side, so it isn’t brand new to me, but the mechanics are.

So, what is a Business Coach? Business Coaching is a process that takes your business from where it is now, to where you want it to be. A Business Coach will help guide you along that process. A Business Coach will help you clarify the vision for your business, how it fits into your personal goals, lay out a plan, help build you and if you have a coach like mine, so much more will come along with it.

So basically, if you knew what you want, but you don’t know how the hell to get there, or you feel like you don’t know what in the hell you are doing, you might want to start looking for a business coach. Other signs you might need a business coach?

  1. You don’t have a clear vision of your business and your role within your business. If you keep changing your business and you have no goals, priorities or anything written down. You might be in a rut doing the same thing over and over again, with no real results. You need a coach boo!

  1. You need someone to help keep you accountable. Yo, you can say you are going to do this and that all day, but it means nothing if you don’t do it. The truth is, sometimes it helps to have someone else we are working on goals with to keep us on the accountability track. I know for damn sure I’m not about to be in these streets looking inconsistent and looking like a deal breaker! I won’t waste my time, or my coaches time. The goals we set, I do my best to hit and he checks in with me to make sure I’m hitting them and help where needed.

  1. You feel like you could be growing and developing more but you don’t know how to do that. A good business coach can help bring out new skills and talents that you didn’t even know you had.

Here’s what I need you to know though, it is imperative that you find not a good business coach, but a GREAT one with receipts! When I say, receipts, I mean proof that they know what they are doing. I met my business coach David Shands as part of a group of business coaches called “The Cartel” on a webinar that had close to 200 people on it. He stood out the most. Then he started offering his own free webinars, and you know I have more than enough money for free! So I would hop onto every free webinar that he offered, and I would learn so much. His story about building his dreams is incredible, so I would follow everything he did, and I realized, he knows what the hell he is doing. Then on webinar, he called on me and asked me a question, I answered the question and he was very blunt with me about what I needed to change. Eventually I joined his coaching company Sleepless Knights and within two weeks, per the goals he and I set up, I published a book that wasn’t supposed to drop until the end of November. Now it drops on October 31st.

I’ve only been working with him for not even a month and in the first coaching session, he gave me a vision as to where to take my company, that was based on what I want and our conversation throughout the session! My business coach is the bomb!

I feel like an entrepreneur, I feel like I know where I am going now, even through the ups and down that came and will come. If you find yourself anywhere within what you just read, you need a coach hun, plain and simple.
