Recipes to keep us fit and fab and full of flavor…

Eating healthy is synonymous with boring, dull food with little to no flavor. But keeping fit and fab doesn’t have to be that much work and we don’t need to sacrifice on flavor. I have rounded up a few delicious recipes for any and every time of day, to keep you full, healthy and keep your tastebuds satisfied. Try these low calorie, healthy recipes without even an ounce of guilt 😉

Let’s get started with the most important meal of the day, shall we

Breakfast:
Protein packed Greek oat berry pancakes

These pancakes are amazing for your post workout breakfast or simply added to your healthier diet to keep healthy and fit. These are packed with protein, antioxidants , probiotics and calcium.

Ingredients:
2C Oats
1Tbl baking powder
1tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 ripe banana
1/2 C low fat plain yoghurt
1/4C vanilla almond milk
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2C mixed berries

Blend all ingredients together in in a blender. Ensure that your non stick pan is hot. Add a little oil and pour half of the batter into the pan. Turn pancake once the under side is brown. Brown the other side. Serve pancakes with peanut butter or maple syrup.
Note: these can burn quite quickly, so make sure to keep a constant eye on them during cooking process.

Snack Attack:
Cranberry and Peanut butter apple slices


These are the perfect snacks for when that sweet tooth kicks in or when we feel like something slightly indulgent. These are also full of protein, fiber and antioxidants which makes them an amazing guilt free snack.
To 1 Apple (sliced), Smear peanut butter on each slice, top with a few cranberries.

Dessert
Life is too short, eat dessert first..”
As our readers know by now, I am all about desserts and so the magazine is too. We all love the sweet life and i have the perfect dessert to satisfy your sweet cravings.

In a glass/bowl, layer your favorite flavored low fat/fat free yoghurt, add berries, a handful of trail mix (these are made up of nuts, fruit, seeds etc) & for extra indulgence, add a few sugar free chocolate chips.

It’s a guilt free party…
Cocktails are a great way to unwind, with friends, especially after a long day. But they are known to be full of calories and sugar. But there is no reason to avoid cocktail hour and enjoying your favorite tipple. We have cocktails for you that are a sweet indulgence with none of those unwanted calories.

No Guilt Pina Coladas

If you love the tropical flavors of Pina Coladas, this skimmed down version,with the added zestiness of pineapple, is just for you.

120ml coconut rum
300ml coconut water
120ml pineapple juice
2 slices of pineapple and 2 maraschino cherries to garnish.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker, with ice. Shake and strain into ice filled glasses. Garnish with the pineapple slices and cherries. Serves 2

“Pretty in pink Pomintini
Try this fruity skinny take on a martini

80ml vodka
40ml pomegranate juice
60ml soda/sparkling water
Fresh mint

Mix all these ingredients together in a glass with ice. Stir. Garnish with mint.

Slender Citrus (serves 4)
The zestiness and refreshing tartness of the citrus offset and balanced perfectly with the agave makes for a light, low calorie drink, just in time for bikini season.

150ml tequila
45ml orange juice
45ml lime juice
45ml lemon juice
15ml agave nectar /simple syrup
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into glasses with ice. Garnish with a lime slice on the rim of the glasses.

And there we have it my luvs, a complete meal, that’s packed with flavor and nutrients with 0 guilt whatsoever. Now we can have our cake…and eat it too🙌😉
