It is Friday evening and you finished a long week of work. Now is the time to sit back and relax. Then reality sets in; you only have two days off. How you spend your weekend is more important than you might think.
Spend your weekend with friends, family, or loved ones and enjoy life; at the same time focus on relaxing and preparing for the week ahead.
Here are a few tips that I use to help set myself up for a powerful and positive workweek: spend time alone, don’t overspend, and prepare on Sunday.
Spend Time Alone
Sometimes you need to be selfish with your time and remove yourself from others and social media. You might start to see how you fill voids by scrolling on your phone or creating small talk with those around you.
Focus on yourself, meditate, relax, or pamper yourself—do whatever makes you feel good. When you focus on taking care of yourself, you can live in the moment and create your own sense of happiness.
I am sure that we all do this; we enjoy our weekend and spend our hard earned money. When you enjoy your time and don’t pay attention, you don’t realize what you have spent until the following week. Overspending leads to a stressful week ahead. You have spent your coffee money, lunch money, and even some money for your commute. Noticing what you spent can bring down what could have been a successful and positive week.
Make sure that the next time you swipe your card or order your next drink, think to yourself, is it worth it?
Prepare on Sunday
A Sunday well spent brings a week of content. I am sure you have heard that many times; I know I have. Next time you hear it, use it as a reminder to focus on how you are setting up the week.
- Cook for the week and meal prep
- Set weekly goals and plan your schedule
- Clean up the house
When you clear clutter and organize your mind and life, you enhance your ability to focus.
Focus on a few things to calm your mind and realize what the next week can bring. As a hard working woman you want to move forward, and it is important to train your mind to be the best it can be.
Here is to being the best you can be!
