The Power Of Your Mindset

Mindset: the established set of attitudes held by someone. Do you know how powerful your mindset actually is? Mindset creates motivation and productivity.

About 3 1/2 years ago my mindset was much different than it is today. I was comfortable in the way that my life was. I knew I had to go to work every single day, by that I mean I had to go to work for someone every single day and make their dreams come for me to earn a paycheck. I had the mindset to go to work every day come home take care of my family make dinner and prepare for the next day. I never really knew there was so much more I was capable of doing. I never even thought twice about being my own boss. I thought I had my whole work career planned out. I thought I was going to work 40 years until retirement. I always wondered how these successful people could take charge of their own life, how they could be an entrepreneur and have a family. Then suddenly one day I was offered an opportunity, and opportunity that would change my life forever. When this opportunity was presented to me the first thing I thought of was “how can I possibly fit anything else into my busy lifestyle? Being a mother of three children, working as a hairstylist and taking care of the house made me really think. My thoughts were “I want to do this!” But how? I had to make a shift in my mindset. That was the only way I could figure it out. I made the decision, I was all in. There is no “try” in my vocabulary. I was either all in or nothing at all. Guess what!? Game on baby! You have to know your worth, To know you are able.

When you know you’re worth you will go out there and get what is yours. You will be unstoppable! I knew I was worth much more than going to work every single day to make someone else’s dreams come true. I was willing and ready to take charge of my life, to become the CEO of my own life.

I decided to blend in my own business with my busy schedule. Of course I kept my core job. While building my new empire I still need an income. Empires do not grow over night no matter how many hours I wear my crown.

Do you know what pairs up nicely with your mindset? Personal development. There are many forms of personal development. Reading and listening to audio books are just to name a few. I find both useful. I set aside a certain amount of time each day to read a book that has an abundance of inspiration, relatable topics and self improvement. I listen to audio books on CD in my car while driving. There are so many ways to dig into personal development and work on YOU! There are no excuses! We all have the same 24 hours in a day.

Knowing my worth, having respect for myself and keeping it real 3 1/2 years later mindset has completely changed. I am now a proud entrepreneur. I am the CEO of my own life. I am a forever student in personal development. I learn something new about myself every day. I know I am growing into the best version of me.

Write down your goals. Make a plan and put them to action. Below are a few tips that help me stay on track.

  • Mount a HUGE white board with erasable markers to write your goals, write your daily affirmations and attach pictures of things you would like to have (your wishlist).
  • Set aside 15 minutes or more (but no less!) time to read something that is serving your time well and helping you become a better you.
  • Grow your network and create relationships. Reach out to people, make new connections on social media.
  • Have positive thoughts and surround yourself with positive people. There is NO time for negativity!
  • Add as much value to others lives that you possibly can.

Believe in YOU and YOU will rise to the top in anything you want in life! It takes dedication and perseverance as well as learning from failure. Take notes along your journey and share it with the world!

Thank you!

Jennifer, Xo
